Trek into the heart of the Annapurna Himalayas
Walk through mountain villages, rhododendron forests and high alpine valleys on a 14-day journey to Annapurna Base Camp.
The route reaches two celebrated Himalayan destinations: Machhapuchhre Base Camp at 3,700 metres and Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 metres. Along the way, you will watch sunrise from Poon Hill, stay in local teahouses and see peaks including Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli and Dhaulagiri.
The expedition also includes a guided tour of Kathmandu and time beside Begnas Lake and in Pokhara.
Dates: November 9–22, 2026
Location: Kathmandu, Pokhara and the Annapurna region, Nepal
Trip length: 14 days
Highest point: Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 metres
Group size: Maximum of 12
Price: $2,595, subject to confirmation
Single-room supplement: $180 for hotel stays
Reach two Himalayan base camps
The trail travels deep into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a high mountain basin surrounded by some of Nepal’s most recognisable peaks.
You will first reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp before continuing to Annapurna Base Camp. The gradual journey through several elevation zones gives you time to experience how the landscape changes from terraced hills and forests to exposed alpine terrain.
An early start on the summit day brings you to Annapurna Base Camp for sunrise. Afterwards, you will retrace the route and descend to lower elevations.
Experience Nepal beyond the trail
The trip begins with a guided tour of Kathmandu. You will visit Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple and Patan Durbar Square.
After Kathmandu, the group travels west toward Pokhara and spends a night near Begnas Lake. This creates a gradual transition from the capital to the foothills of the Annapurna region.
The trekking route passes through Gurung villages and mountain communities where teahouses provide accommodation and meals.
Travel with guides and ethical porter support
Experienced English-speaking local guides lead the trek. Porters support the group at a ratio of one porter for every two travellers.
Global Shenanigans works with local partners to manage permits, accommodation, domestic transport and the mountain itinerary. Chris also accompanies the group from Kathmandu to Annapurna Base Camp.
The route remains flexible. Weather, trail conditions, transport, altitude and the health of the group may require changes.
Prepare before you travel
You will receive a detailed equipment list and access to a pre-trip group chat. Use the chat to ask about training, clothing, footwear and rental equipment.
Begin preparing well before departure. Regular hill walking helps develop the endurance required for consecutive trekking days. Train in the footwear you plan to use and carry a daypack similar to the one you will take on the trail.
Rental equipment may be available. Confirm the items, sizes and charges with the practitioner before travelling.
