Rest, Move, and Enjoy the Italian Sunshine
Join The Wild Times in Lazio for six nights of yoga, nourishing food, countryside adventures, and deliciously unhurried days. Set in the Sabine Hills near the border with Umbria, the retreat feels wonderfully removed from everyday life while remaining within reach of Rome.
The venue is a lovingly restored farmhouse surrounded by rolling hills, olive groves, walnut trees, and peaceful countryside. Practice yoga on a shaded outdoor platform overlooking the valley, cool off in the swimming pool, or find a quiet corner to read and rest.
This retreat embraces the Italian idea of “dolce far niente,” the sweetness of doing nothing. You are welcome to join every activity or give yourself permission to slow down and do less.
Yoga and Meditation
Jenny Clark, founder of The Wild Times, will guide a blend of vinyasa, yin, Yoga Nidra, and meditation throughout the retreat.
Her classes create a relaxed and non-judgmental environment, with options for different experience levels. The focus is on noticing how your body feels rather than trying to create a perfect shape.
The retreat includes:
– 12 yoga classes lasting approximately 60 to 90 minutes
– Daily guided meditation
– A dedicated yoga workshop
– Yoga mats, bolsters, and blocks
You do not need to be an experienced yogi to attend. To help you get the most from the retreat, The Wild Times recommends trying at least three or four yoga classes before you arrive.
Italian Food and Mindful Pasta Making
Beth Alexander, also known as Beth the Free Range Chef, will prepare nourishing vegetarian meals throughout the retreat. Beth cooks intuitively with seasonal ingredients, bringing together generous flavors, colors, and textures.
One of the highlights is a mindful pasta-making workshop with Beth. You will also enjoy an included pizza-and-wine dinner in a picturesque local village.
Meals, snacks, fruit, tea, and coffee are included. The retreat can accommodate many dietary requirements with advance notice. However, the venue cannot accommodate a gluten-free diet for this particular retreat.
Explore the Farfa River Gorge
Midway through the week, the group will take an optional excursion to the Farfa River Gorge. Walk through the dramatic limestone landscape and, conditions permitting, swim in the river.
Transportation to and from the gorge is included.
The countryside surrounding the retreat is hilly, so a reasonable level of mobility and fitness is needed if you would like to join the hike. You can also remain at the venue and enjoy a quieter day by the pool.
Your Retreat Venue
The retreat takes place near Torri in Sabina, approximately 1.5 hours from Rome. The area is known for medieval hilltop villages, forests, natural springs, rivers, and expansive countryside views.
The venue consists of two restored stone farmhouses surrounded by peaceful grounds. Shaded terraces, intimate outdoor spaces, a swimming pool, and a purpose-built yoga platform create plenty of room to gather or spend time alone.
Bedrooms are simple, distinctive, and thoughtfully decorated. Most rooms are en suite, while a small number share bathroom facilities. Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, although accommodation requests will be considered where possible.
