Description

Sicily Yoga Retreat

September 11–18, 2027

We are staying at a beautifully restored 19th-century farmhouse on a hill overlooking the olive groves, just a short drive from sandy beaches, Noto and the Vendicari Nature Reserve.

The farmhouse features an infinity pool overlooking the surrounding olive and almond groves, comfortable rooms and a beautiful garden with plenty of places to lounge. It is an ideal setting for a week of rest and reset.

Each day includes yoga in the converted barn or outdoor shala. Mornings feature vinyasa and meditation, while evenings are reserved for slower, restorative practices. There will also be plenty of free time to swim, sunbathe, read or nap.

We will head out to explore Sicily too, with a visit to historic Noto, a boat trip along the coast and a traditional rustic pizza dinner among the olive trees.

Come rest, explore and soak up the Sicilian sun, with incredible food and wonderful company.

What You’ll Do

Arrive and settle in on Saturday afternoon, with snacks and drinks waiting for you. Minibus transfers to and from Catania Airport are included when you travel at the recommended times. If those times do not work for you, hiring a car is recommended.

The retreat begins gently, with an arrival drink and an orientation walk around the farmhouse and grounds. This is followed by a grounding yoga class and dinner together.

Most mornings feature vinyasa yoga and meditation, while afternoons may include yin yoga, yoga Nidra or time to rest. The classes are themed around the natural elements, bringing the surrounding landscape into your practice.

All activities are optional but encouraged. You can nap, read, swim or explore according to what you need that day.

On Monday, we will take a boat trip with lunch to explore Sicily’s coastline and nearby beaches. Wednesday brings a day trip to the historic city of Noto, where you can explore its Baroque streets, churches and restaurants. On Thursday evening, we will enjoy a traditional rustic pizza dinner among the olive trees at a local farm.

There will be plenty of time between the planned activities to relax, sunbathe, walk, read and swim in the infinity pool.

In Italy, we like to embrace dolce far niente, the sweetness of doing nothing. That is what we will be doing, or rather being: deliciously idle.

Where You’ll Stay

Danena Sicily sits on the sun-drenched southeastern coast of the island, surrounded by olive groves and wide Mediterranean skies. The venue is approximately 15 minutes from the Baroque city of Noto and within reach of Catania Airport.

The beautifully restored 19th-century masseria honours its rustic Sicilian roots while offering comfort and character. Its grounds include open courtyards, shaded terraces, peaceful corners and far-reaching views.

Yoga takes place in a light-filled converted barn and an outdoor shala surrounded by citrus trees and aromatic herbs.

The saltwater infinity pool offers a refreshing place to cool down, while the communal dining courtyard, shared lounge and outdoor spaces provide room to spend time together.

Bedrooms have their own individual character and combine traditional Sicilian design with natural textures. Rooms are located either inside the main farmhouse or in nearby apartments. All have air conditioning. Some rooms are en-suite, while others share a bathroom.

Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

What You’ll Eat

Food is prepared on site using fresh local ingredients. Meals are wholesome, vegetarian and inspired by the flavours of Italy.

Fruit, granola, tea and coffee are available before morning yoga. A generous brunch follows later in the morning, with both sweet and savoury options. An indulgent dinner, including dessert, is served each evening.

All meals are included, including the traditional pizza dinner at a local farm.

A fruit and hot-drink station will be available throughout the retreat, with herbal teas and coffee served during the mornings and at mealtimes.

Most dietary requirements can be accommodated when provided in advance. Please include any allergies or dietary restrictions on the booking form you receive after reserving your place.
