Terms & Conditions
1. Your Holiday Booking
A booking will exist as soon as you have paid the deposit. This booking is made on the terms of these booking conditions. When you make a booking, you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions.
Global Shenanigans acts as group leader and organiser only.
2. Paying for Your Holiday
When you make your booking, you must pay a deposit as outlined in our offer. The balance of the price of your travel arrangements must be paid at least 2 months before your departure date. If the deposit and/or balance is not paid in time, we shall cancel your travel arrangements. If the balance is not paid in time we shall retain your deposit.
3. If You Cancel Your Holiday
You, or any member of your party, may cancel your travel arrangements at any time. Written notification from the person who made the booking must be sent to the following e-mail address: chris@global-shenanigans.com. Since we incur costs in cancelling your travel arrangements, you will have to pay cancellation charges as follows:
More than 60 days - Deposit only
Less than 60 days - No refund
Note: If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.
You can cancel your booking without paying cancellation charges if the performance of your package, or the carriage of passengers to your destination, is significantly affected by unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances. In such circumstances, we will arrange for your booking to be terminated and for you to receive a full refund. We will observe advice provided by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
4. If We Cancel Your Booking
We reserve the right to cancel your booking. We will do so only in case of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances, or failure by you to pay the final balance. Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances mean a situation beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken. We shall inform you without any delay and before the start of your holiday.
If your holiday is cancelled you will have either a refund of all monies paid or date change if possible.
In the event a refund is paid to you, we will pay this to your bank account within 14 days after the cancellation and you will not have any right for compensation.
6. If We Change Your Booking
It is a term of your booking that we are able to make changes to any aspect of your booking. If the change is insignificant, we will ensure that you are notified about it. Examples of insignificant changes include hotel changes or minor schedule adjustments.
11. Passport, Visa, Immigration & other Requirements
Your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant Embassies and/or Consulates. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport, visa or immigration requirements.
Besides passport and visa requirements, it is also your responsibility to bring cancellation/ travel insurance policy and get mandatory vaccinations.
Your names on tickets must be identical to the names in your passports. It is your responsibility to ensure that the names used during booking/confirmation are correct and identical to all of the names and surnames in your passports.
It is your responsibility to get to the designated airport on the correct date.
12. Excursions
For any excursion or other tour that you book or pay directly with other operators than us, your contract will be with the operator of the excursion or tour and not with us. We are not responsible for the provision of the excursion or tour or for anything that happens during the course of its provision by such operators.
13. Law and Jurisdiction
These terms & conditions are governed by English Law, and the jurisdiction of the English Courts. You may however choose the law and jurisdiction of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there and wish to do so.

Explore Sicily’s volcanic islands by sea kayak
Paddle beneath volcanic cliffs, enter sea caves and cross clear Mediterranean water on this eight-day expedition through Sicily’s Aeolian Islands.
The journey combines six days of kayaking with coastal camping and four nights in guesthouse accommodation. You will explore Vulcano, Lipari, Salina and Stromboli while experiencing places that can only be reached from the water.
With no more than six guests, the trip gives newer paddlers close guidance and experienced kayakers plenty of time on the sea.

Four islands, each with its own character
The Aeolian Islands rise from the Tyrrhenian Sea off Sicily’s northern coast. Their volcanic origins have created steep cliffs, dark beaches, sea caves, natural pools and geothermal features.
Your route is expected to include:
Vulcano: Explore rugged volcanic shores, sheltered water and geothermal landscapes.
Lipari: Paddle around rocky coastlines and discover quieter stretches beyond the island’s main town.
Salina: Camp within walking distance of town, giving you the chance to enjoy Sicilian food after a day on the water.
Stromboli: Stay in guesthouse accommodation and experience one of the Mediterranean’s most distinctive volcanic islands. Opportunities to observe volcanic activity depend on local conditions and safety restrictions.
What the expedition feels like
Each day balances paddling with time to swim, explore and recover. The longest planned paddling day covers approximately 20 kilometres and may involve four to five hours on the water.
The route includes camping and guesthouse accommodation. Campsites are selected with access to nearby towns and restaurants in mind. This allows the group to travel without carrying six days of food in the kayaks.
You will still need to pack your personal belongings and accept the practical realities of a moving sea expedition. Weather, sea conditions and the group’s ability may change the route.

A route shaped by the sea
The planned journey may change because of wind, waves, volcanic conditions, group ability or local restrictions. The expedition leader can alter the route, activity schedule, campsites or island sequence when safety requires it.
That flexibility protects the group and allows the guides to choose the best available paddling each day.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need previous kayaking experience?
The expedition welcomes beginner to intermediate kayakers. The small group allows the guide to give newer paddlers closer support. You should still be prepared for six active days, including paddles of up to four or five hours.
How physically demanding is the trip?
The longest planned day covers about 20 kilometres. Daily conditions and distances may vary. You should be comfortable with sustained physical activity and several hours in a kayak.
How large is the group?
The expedition is limited to six guests. The smaller group supports closer instruction and greater flexibility on the water.
Where will we sleep?
The trip combines coastal camping with four nights of guesthouse accommodation. Camping locations and the order of overnight stays may change with the route.
Is kayaking equipment included?
Yes. Kayaking and camping equipment are included. Ask the practitioner for a personal packing list before departure.
Are meals included?
No. Food and drinks are excluded. The route has been planned to provide access to restaurants and shops where possible.
Are airport transfers included?
Yes. Airport and ferry transfers are included. Confirm the meeting airport, arrival window and departure arrangements before booking your flights.
Will we see Stromboli erupt?
Stromboli is an active volcano, but volcanic activity cannot be guaranteed. Viewing opportunities depend on natural conditions, local restrictions and safety guidance.
What happens if the weather changes?
The guide may adjust the route, paddling plan or accommodation when weather and sea conditions require it. A flexible itinerary is essential on a multi-island kayaking expedition.
