  • About the Practitioner

After being widowed suddenly, I struggled to find support. There simply weren't many options for people widowed on the younger side of life and who were not aligned with a specific faith. I worked with a life coach to figure out my "what now?" and decided to study to become a grief coach to help others. Since then, I've worked with people who've lost their one, whether it was their partner, sibling, best friend, parent, or even pet. I've also worked with those who've lost someone to suicide, addiction, and violence.

Description

Checking in for Support

Sometimes, we need to talk through where we are in our grief experience with someone who just gets it. Family and friends mean well, but too often simply haven’t experienced what grief is actually like. Whether you’d like to talk through the rollercoaster of emotions, vent things no one else will understand, or be provided with grounding exercises, freestanding support sessions can feel like a life line.

Grappling with the Now

Grief often provides a strange “only/already” paradigm that warps time. For example, we often find ourselves thinking “I can’t believe it’s only been a month, but I also can’t believe it’s already been a month.” As time continues to march on, we begin to think through what we want and who we want to be. Single sessions can a space to brainstorm, to build protection, to dare to dream, to express regrets – they’re whatever you want them to be.

Built in Tools and Techniques

Grief is not linear, nor can we plan for it. In single sessions, I can provide you with tools and techniques that empower you to better process the human experience that is grief without getting lost in it. And, if you’d like to plan more sessions, we can map out what that could look like.

Exploring Alternatives

Since grief often shakes existing belief systems, free standing sessions can also be a space to explore faith, belief systems, and what else is out there to help you find meaning in loss. There’s no one way to process grief, and sometimes shifting the lens a bit – or, firming it up – can help us feel more connected to the bigger picture.

Focusing Exclusively on YOU

While we’re grieving, we often force ourselves to set aside our own emotions to be able to help others also suffering around us, like other family members or friends. In single sessions, your needs take front and center. You are important, you are valued, and you deserve to feel heard.

“Jamie is a brilliant and empathetic coach. Her wisdom and perceptiveness guided me to more breakthroughs than I can count. Every session propelled me forward to take on the next challenge. It led me to make extraordinarily positive decisions about my life and my future.” – LP
