Bio
An Emmy-nominated screenwriter, multiple award-winning playwright, filmmaker and fiction writer. Karen has published work in numerous literary journals, newspapers, and magazines. After studying art and playwriting at UCSB, she graduated with a BFA in Filmmaking from Art Center College of Design. A member of WGAw and SAG•AFTRA, her writing approach and philosophy are influenced by her study of dreamwork, Hawaiian shamanism, filmmaking, acting, and improv training with The Groundlings.Karen’s intuitive writing workshops started as Guided Writing Tours™, themed writing excursions to evocative locations. Since 2020, she has customized her experiential workshops for the virtual space, inspiring hundreds of writers worldwide as a top-rated host of Airbnb Online Experiences. Many of these writers have continued working with her to complete their book-length fiction and memoir projects.
Along with publishing her own work, she now offers one-on-one writing coaching, virtual writing experiences, and in-person workshops and retreats. Karen is devoted to exploring innovative ways to spark insight and inspire authentic, intuitive expression to help you write your story.
